Pre-Order Tree Farm Quilt Kits & Bundles!

 

Tree Farm is my newest fabric collection and it's coming soon.  This collection doesn't scream Christmas but sure does bring the holiday to life.

This quilt is called Tree Farm and is the main quilt featuring all of the fabrics in the collection.  Christmas trees are the focus of our Christmas holiday, and I wanted to create a quilt celebrating the tree.  

The large blocks have a tree in the center, surrounded by a red wreath.  The block is 18 inches and is made from Half Square Triangles and connector corners.  Pretty easy piecing.  The quilt measures 88 x 88.

If you're a star block lover like me, you understand why I had to create a star quilt using the Tree Farm collection.  What would  Christmas be without without some twinkle?  This quilt, called Christmas Stars, features green and red stars and is surrounded by a Flying Geese border, then framed with a red border using the feather tree print.  I adore the feather tree print and I used it a lot.  This quilt measures 72 x 81 with 9 inch blocks.

The final quilt features a classic Carolina Lily block.  The blocks are made with Flying Geese and connector corners, so very do-able, and has a touch of applique for the stems and the leaves.  This quilt is a quintessential Christmas design, and I love it!  Called Christmas Lily, the quilt has just three fabrics and measures 25 x 25 inches.  

There are fourteen prints in the Tree Farm collection.  Four warm neutrals, four reds, four greens, one brown (for the tree trunks) and a dark green/black pine print for the Tree Farm quilt border.

The Tree Farm fabric is due to arrive early in June.  I will ship your quilt kit(s) and bundles just as soon as I can get them all cut and prepared, which will be a little later in June.

Pre-Order Maple House Quilt Kit & Bundles!

 

Maple House is my newest fabric collection for Marcus Fabrics.  Done in warm and cozy browns and neutrals, paired with pretty blues, I hope Maple House will become one of your favorite fabric collections, too!

My Maple House quilt features sawtooth stars in the blue and brown prints, but what really puts the quilt over the top (in my humble opinion) are the sashings and the gorgeous border print.

While antiquing, I found this adorable floral print.  Honestly, I love it so much.  So, I used it as a sashing in between the stars in the block.  

Now you can see the real floral print fabric.  I also found the wonderful brown stripe.  That inspired me to use it as the sashing between the four stars blocks.  I love how it turned out!!  I think both of the sashings really "make" the quilt.  It would really look different without them!

Then, there's the beautiful border print.  The blue is lighter in this photo than it really is, but you can really see the detail of the print, so I posted it.  I can't tell you how rich and gorgeous it is in person. 

I love it so much that I did a version in a variety of neutral colors.  Wow....it turned out just so pretty, too!

Last, but certainly not least, are the many blue, brown and neutral prints in Maple House.  There are 22 prints in the entire collection.

Pre-Order Strawberry Emery Quilt & Bundles!!

It seems like I've been waiting forever for this fabric to arrive, but it's almost here and I am beyond jazzed!!!  Introducing my new quilt Emery, made from my new Strawberry Emery fabric collection.  

Do you wonder what a strawberry emery is?  Well....it's the little strawberry that usually hangs from a tomato pin cushion.  The emery is there to sharpen needles.  

I collect strawberry emeries from the nineteenth century.  They were a prized sewing notion, made separately from the tomato, often made with silk and velvet, and sometimes adorned with silver tops.  They are tiny, with the largest one in the photo only 1 1/2 inches.  They are stuffed very hard with emery (the grit you find on nail files,) and I can't imagine how they sewed these tiny strawberries together with the emery so packed in there.  I just love them!

The quilt was just finished and is off to be quilted.  I can't wait to get it back.  I was able to video the quilt top in full sunlight, but it seems to have washed out the fabrics from what they really are.  Look at the photos below which I took in the house out of the direct sun.  Those are the real colors.

My Piecemakers Sampler fabric is starting to arrive.  I received my first order, and am waiting on my second order due to arrive this week.  We are working hard on cutting and folding to get those pre-orders out as soon as possible.

We're also stuffing a ton of Piecemakers Sampler patterns which are due to ship to participating quilt shops next week.  The BOM program begins in February.  Yup....we're busy!

I'm also working on future fabric collections with a lot of new stuff in the works.  Always very excited about that.

I want to share this beautiful quilt with you.  It was made by Cindy Williams of Louisville, KY.  She used bundles from my two  Plumberry fabric collections.  Cindy used Marsha McCloskey's Storm At Sea pattern.  I sure love the Storm At Sea design and this quilt does not disappoint!  It's stunning!!  Thanks, Cindy, for allowing me to share your gorgeous quilt with everyone.

Doll Bed Dowry ~ Christmas Eve Quilt Freebie!

 

A little change from my Quilt Archaeology promotions (which I love), I thought I'd introduce something new with Doll Bed Dowry.

What's up with the name?  Well, any little doll and her bed would need a selection of quilts, and isn't that what a dowry is?  It was said, way back when, that a woman needed thirteen quilts for her dowry, with the last one, the thirteenth, being the most lovely of them all.  I thought it a fitting name for a pile of lovely doll quilts.  The dowry quilts are not based on an old quilt, like Quilt Archaeology, but are of my own design.
